Gerry Salole, ceo van het EFC: ‘We are excited to welcome Dharmendra as our first Fellow and are extremely grateful to the Big Lottery Fund for seconding him to us for a six month sabbatical. I am confident that his vast experience in senior management positions in the voluntary and statutory sectors in the United Kingdom, will be a great asset to the EFC as we continue to expand our services to members and to step up our efforts to successfully engage with policy makers and politicians.’
Kanani: ‘It’s an exciting time to be in Brussels as a part of the European Foundation Centre, an association of over 200 public-benefit foundations and corporate funders active in philanthropy in Europe. It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to build a policy voice and capability for a thriving association with a social purpose in Europe. I am enthusiastic about working with EFC’s strong, international team of people who are committed to their members and to contributing to the great work of foundations throughout Europe and further afield. Working with the EFC will enable me to build on my experience, strengthen connections with the UK philanthropy sector, and engage in building relationships with the many different actors at EU level.’
