Dr Joanna Macrae is Senior Partnerships Manager at GiveDirectly. She is recognised internationally for her expertise in humanitarian policy, research and innovation management. Joanna worked at the UK Department for International Development for ten years. During this time she led the UK's humanitarian policy as well as key aspects of its research and evidence agenda. She previously worked at the Overseas Development Institute in London, where she established an international reputation as a researcher and advocate on humanitarian policy issues. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of London.
